SYNOPSIS
Twelve-year-old Nick (Aaron Sansi) has changed a lot lately: life feels difficult for him, he’s often sad and then feels empty and lacking in energy. He can’t bring himself to talk to anyone about it. His parents (Sarina Radomski, Toks Körner) are currently very busy with work – he doesn’t want to bother them. At the most inconvenient moments, Nick suddenly sees a dark shadow that distracts him to the point of short but total paralysis. An embarrassing handicap when he’s supposed to make a crucial basket in basketball. When his parents leave on a short business trip and, judging him to be independent enough, leave their son alone for a day in their stylish architect-designed house, Nick feels even more alone with his problem. But the next morning, a new student appears at school: Leni (Amelie Klein) purposefully seeks contact with him and sees through his strange blackouts, which only cause headshakes among others. She persuades Nick to go in search of the shadow – that threatening thing weighing down his emotions. He is to choose the path and lead the way, and she will accompany him.
